Important Information for Travel to Japan

Updated: May 8, 2023

We are delighted that the Japanese government has announced that, from May 8th, travel restrictions for tourism will once again be loosened.

Travellers to Japan will no longer be required to provide a certificate of proof of vaccination or a certificate of a negative PCR test result prior to travel. Please see full details here.

As of October 2022, visa requirements have been lifted for travellers from countries that previously had a visa waiver program with Japan. This means that most restrictions have been lifted for travellers from 69 countries. This includes the United States, Australia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand.
